New Pool Construction
-
Every project begins with a one-on-one meeting between the homeowner and a pool design specialist. During this conversation, we explore vision, lifestyle needs, budget considerations, and site conditions to determine the ideal pool size, layout, features, and placement on the property.
-
Using the insights gathered, our team develops a fully customized pool concept. This includes precise dimensions, architectural style, and optional enhancements such as water features, spas, LED lighting, and integrated landscaping—ensuring the design complements both the home and outdoor environment.
-
Before construction begins, all required permits and approvals are secured. This process confirms that the project complies with local building codes, zoning requirements, and safety regulations, allowing construction to proceed smoothly and responsibly.
Excavation
-
Before digging begins, the construction area is carefully cleared and graded. Existing vegetation, debris, and obstructions are removed to create a clean, accessible work zone and to ensure accurate layout of the pool footprint.
-
Using heavy equipment, the excavation team shapes the pool cavity according to the approved design specifications. The dig accounts for exact depth transitions, wall thickness, plumbing runs, and structural components—forming the foundation for the entire pool build.
Steel Reinforcement
-
Once excavation is complete, a network of steel rebar is installed throughout the pool cavity. The steel is precisely formed to match the pool’s design, creating a reinforced framework that gives the pool shell its strength, durability, and long-term structural integrity.
-
Before any shotcrete is applied, the reinforced steel framework is inspected by a local building official. This inspection confirms that spacing, placement, and installation meet all applicable building codes and engineering requirements.
ShotCrete Application
-
Once all structural steel and plumbing are in place, shotcrete is pneumatically applied to form the pool’s structural shell. This high-strength concrete is sprayed under pressure, allowing it to fully encase the steel framework and create the pool’s walls, floor, steps, and benches. This process forms the solid backbone of the pool.
-
After application, the shell is carefully shaped and detailed to match the approved design. The concrete is then properly cured to maximize strength and durability. This critical curing process ensures the pool shell achieves long-term structural integrity and provides a stable foundation for all interior and finish materials.
Plumbing & Footing
-
During this phase, all underground plumbing lines are installed before concrete work begins. This includes main drains, skimmer lines, return lines, and piping for water features and spas. Each line is carefully routed and pressure-tested to ensure proper flow, leak-free performance, and long-term reliability before being encased in concrete.
-
Concrete footings and bond beam areas are formed and prepared to provide critical structural support for the pool shell and surrounding features. These reinforced sections help distribute weight, stabilize the pool structure, and create a solid base for coping, decking, and adjacent hardscape elements.
Coping, Tile, & Deck
-
The pool’s coping and waterline tile are installed to define the pool’s edge and enhance its overall aesthetic. Coping provides a clean, finished transition between the pool and surrounding deck, while waterline tile adds both visual appeal and protection at the water’s edge. Materials and colors are selected to complement the home’s architecture and outdoor design.
-
With coping and tile complete, the surrounding deck and hardscape areas are constructed. This includes concrete, pavers, stone, or other decking materials designed for durability, slip resistance, and comfort. Proper grading and drainage are incorporated to manage water flow, creating a functional and inviting outdoor living space around the pool.
Plaster & Interior Finish
-
Once the pool structure is complete, the interior surface is carefully prepped to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth, consistent finish. The selected plaster or interior coating is then expertly applied to the pool shell, creating a watertight barrier and forming the final surface that gives the pool its color, texture, and overall appearance.
-
After application, the surface is hand-finished to achieve a uniform look and optimal feel underfoot. The pool is then filled with water using proper startup procedures to protect the new finish, promote curing, and ensure long-term durability. This step brings the pool to life and marks the transition from construction to completion.
